The Abbotsford International Airshow in British Columbia , one of Canada’s largest airshows, kicks off this upcoming Friday, and it’s just a short hop across the border from the Lynden, or Sumas, Washington Border crossings. This is prime, affordable entertainment for Western Washington residents.
Featured this year are the USAF Thunderbirds demonstration team, among a large variety of other acts, from high performance jet fighters, to the Boeing-built “Osprey” vertical takeoff or landing (VTOL) plane.

As an interesting aside, the USAF Thunderbirds lead solo pilot this year is the first woman in U.S. history to fly with a military demonstration team. See my previous post on the subject.
