Ring of Fire and Hope at Birch Bay – New Year’s Eve, 7:00 PM
Hundreds of road flares are placed just above the high tide line, and the spectacle of the lights ringing the bay is reportedly breathtaking. Anyone may participate.
- Update, 12-29-2007, 1:07 PM PST: Flares will be handed out at C.J’s Beach House Restaurant at 6:00 PM on New Year’s Eve. 7878 Birch Bay Drive, Birch Bay, WA. 360-317-3400 (map and directions)
—Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce 25th annual “Polar Bear Plunge”
- Registration: Begins at 10:00 AM, New Year’s Day.
- Promptly at noon locals (and anyone else who wishes to participate) will take the “plunge that refreshes.”
- As well, there will be audience-judged contests at CJ’s Beach House, in the categories of Oldest and Youngest Participants, Best Group, and Best Individual Costume .
